What's an MUN?

Model United Nations, also known as Model UN or MUN, is an educational simulation in which students can learn about diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations. MUN involves and teaches participants speaking, debating, and writing skills, in addition to critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities. It is meant to engage students and allow them to develop deeper understanding into current world issues.

RIMUN is the official organisation for Model United Nations conferences at the Rivers International School Arnhem. Organised and run by the students of Rivers, RIMUN is a 3-day conference that welcomes students from high schools in the Netherlands and from other countries. During the conference, students will take on the role of UN delegates and debate important and current world issues. Representing countries and NGOs from around the world, they will engage in debates with the objective of coming up with solutions to these issues.

RIMUN will be held from the 6th to the 8th of March 2020.

RIMUN welcomes delegates with different levels of experience and we promise to provide a wonderful experience for every single one of you. At our conferences, students can expect to improve their public speaking and debating skills. Students will learn to take on responsibility but most importantly, they will grow into confident individuals. RIMUN encourages students to collaborate and communicate but to get the best out of the MUN experience, it is also important to relax and make friends!

We hope that you have a fulfilling experience at RIMUN 2020!
