Overview
General theme
This year’s RiMUN will be themed Shifting Balances. What seemed revolutionary decades ago, might currently be described as heavily outdated. We, global citizens, constantly adjust our visions and beliefs to the time we are living in. Also our attitude towards armed conflicts, human rights violations and the freedom of religion is subject to change. This has an important influence on global conflict resolutions. Shifting power relations and changing world visions will form the basis of this conference.
In times of crisis and in times of change fresh input and new points of view can solve long existing problems. As the French critic Marcel Proust once said: ‘The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes.’
During this weekend you have the chance to adjust your eyes to today’s realities and shift the balance from what has been to what will be.
