Symposium

A Thorough Analysis of US Power: Past, Present and Future

The end of the Cold War and the dissolution of the Soviet Union left the United States(US) as the sole superpower of the world after the second Great War. The country accounts for two-fifths of global military spending  and is one of the leading economic, political, and cultural forces in the world.

In this symposium we will discuss the position of the United States in the years to come. The US has long been considered to be the biggest and only real superpower in the world. This view has been shifting under the influence of recent developments like the instability of the economic system, the rise in economic power of China, and the proliferation of Nuclear weapons throughout the world. In this symposium we will try to gain insight in these developments and we will try to predict the path the US is following into the future. The most important aspects that we will discuss are the economical, military and political position. Experts from different field will state their views on the matter, after which we will face them with proposition they can debate, the audience is strongly encouraged to participate and ask questions.
